Sudha Murty: Her world, extended into a website

Sudha Murty has spent three decades turning simple moments into stories of lasting wisdom, rooted in Indian mythology, morals and everyday life. As she curated her literary legacy, she didn't want a showcase. She wanted a space that felt like her. I began by researching about her and through close readings of her books, to understand not just what she writes but how she sees the world. The website grew from that world. The mango tree, the birds in the clouds, the local sweets and the playful squirrels from her pages come alive in a gentle visual language. A structured pattern inspired by the simple border of her saree holds it all together, as familiar and unfussy as she is. And at the door, Gopi, her beloved dog, wags his tail in welcome. The result is a website that is less a place to browse her books and more a place to step into her stories.
